ABOUT GILLIAN

Music Education specialist, Gillian Hunter-Gibbs brings the highest level of training and experience to bring classical music to young families through creative concert and workshop presentation, group music classes and private violin lessons. Gillian is Executive Director of the Vancouver Bach Family of Choirs and Mom to two young children, Ellie and Myles. Gillian is also an Education Consultant to the Vancouver Recital Society and a member of the Chan Centre Community Programming Advisory Committee.

Gillian holds a Bachelor of Music in Voice and Violin from the University of British Columbia and a Masters of Philosophy in Music Education Research from the University of Cambridge, where she studied methods of music education for young children. Gillian has taught hundreds of children, from babies to teenagers and produced arts events for families in Canada and the UK for two decades. Gillian continues to play violin and viola, in her (not frequent!) spare time, and sing to anyone who will listen!
